The plan check unit performs fire safety plan review and approves architectural plans for various types of occupancies.  They also meet with developers, engineers, and architects for proposed projects.  All fire protection systems are reviewed by the plan check unit, and the turn-around time for a plan review is typically ten working days.  The plan check unit also offers daily over-the-counter plans reviews and technical assistance from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on normal business days for: 

Proposed fire hydrant locations
Fire sprinkler T.I. (25 heads or less with no calculations required)
Fire sprinkler monitoring for water flow only.
Repairs to underground fire lines.
Fire water supply tanks at construction sites.
Outdoor fireplaces and fire rings.
